Appropriate dietary therapy can promote the recovery of allergic purpura and also help regulate the body to reduce the allergy rate.
● Dietary therapy for allergic purpura
(1) If the allergen is food, try to identify the specific food and strictly avoid it.
(2) A high-protein diet is essential, with sufficient intake of high-quality protein from lean meat, animal liver, eggs, and soy products.
(3) Foods high in vitamins, especially those containing vitamin C, play an important role in maintaining normal vascular function.
(4) For patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, a liquid or semi-liquid diet may be given depending on the condition; for those with kidney damage, salt and water intake should be restricted.
●Food choices for allergic purpura
(1) Animal-based foods such as fish, shrimp, crab, eggs, and milk, as well as plant-based foods such as broad beans, pineapples, and pollen, may be allergens. These foods can cause allergic purpura in 10-15% of cases and should be eliminated one by one.
(2) Foods rich in Vitamin C include fresh vegetables and fruits, especially leafy green vegetables, green peppers, citrus fruits, fresh dates, kiwifruit, and rose hips. Mung bean sprouts are also a good source of Vitamin C during the winter when vegetables are scarce.
(3) Adjust the intake of high-quality animal protein and soy products.
