Nutritional reminder :

Fresh Ophiopogon japonicus and Adenophora stricta lean pork soup is a medicinal dish belonging to the Cantonese cuisine. Fresh Ophiopogon japonicus paired with Adenophora stricta and lean pork creates a soup with a refreshing and delicious flavor. It has warming and nourishing properties, moistens the lungs, and relieves coughs, making it suitable for family meals during the dry autumn season. Ophiopogon japonicus is slightly cold in nature, with a sweet and slightly bitter taste. It nourishes yin, moistens the lungs, promotes fluid production, and relieves coughs. It is often used to treat dry coughs due to lung dryness, thirst due to insufficient body fluids, irritability, and insomnia. When eaten fresh, it has an even sweeter and more refreshing flavor.

Adenophora stricta is one of the medicinal herbs used in "Qingbuliang" (a traditional Chinese medicine formula). It can nourish yin and clear the lungs, nourish the stomach and promote the production of body fluids, and remove deficiency heat. There are southern and northern varieties of Adenophora stricta, with similar effects. Southern Adenophora stricta has a stronger effect in clearing heat and eliminating phlegm, while northern Adenophora stricta has a stronger effect in nourishing yin and moisturizing dryness. Northern Adenophora stricta is generally used as an ingredient in soups. When used with lean meat, it nourishes and replenishes deficiency without causing dampness, thus replenishing what is deficient and moisturizing what is dry.
